CTM Data Hub - Carbon Emissions (calculations)
Carbon factors within the CTM Data Hub are calculated the widely known and adopted UK DEFRA methodology.
Reporting factors are updated annually. The updated calculations are published from UK Government in Jun/Jul each year and apply for travel from April (current year) to end of March the following year.
Once published by UK.gov the Data Hub (Global Data Warehouse) is updated with the factors and any changes applied for travel from 1April.
Further information regarding the calculation methodology from our Climate+ offsetting partner 'SouthPole' can be found here.
The full DEFRA calculations can be found for reference on UK.gov here for each year. For high-level overview, the 4 main product type Carbon calculation cover:-

What is RF when mentioned for Air Carbon Emissions?
When carbon is released at a higher altitude, this has a greater impact on the environment than those released on the ground, this is referred to as Radiative Forcing (RF).
Air Carbon Emission calculation include an addition factor to consider the increased environmental impact
