Managing Junk and Quarantine emails
There are many reasons why it may decide to place an email in a users Junk folder or in Quarantine, for example if they are sending to multiple email addresses in the company, or if their address is similar to other addresses.
When an email is sent it goes through a number of rule checks. It will then decide to do one of the following three options, depending on whether the email meets certain criteria:
- Deliver the email to a users inbox folder (green light)
- Deliver the email to a users junk folder (amber light)
- Hold the email in Quarantine (red light)
It is never an exact science, which is why users have the ability to control what is and isn't blocked from their end. As this can differ from user to user what is considered junk it is NOT centrally managed.
