Lighting UK - Profile Management for CTM Users and Client Demo Users
Overview:
This guide will cover how and where to create profiles for CTM staff and Profiles for Client Access to Demo Companies within Lighting UK including the different role types available and basic testing procedures.
Who goes where?
Client users will be created in Umbrella, which will pass the information to all products requiring them including Lightning / Sabre / Conferma / Evolvi. As such users will only need creating in Lightning directly for two purposes:
- Client Demo Users – If a client requests a login to try out the system we can create a User for them in Lightning. (These should be periodically deleted).
-
Internal CTM Users – Agents, Sales, Support etc users will need building directly in Lightning.
Client Demo Users
These should be generally booked under company CTM Lightning EXT Demo 02LI. (note the EXT for External)
This is a Non Live company set with basic config. The users will be able to complete the booking process through to confirmation without risking any charges or actual bookings.
Specific config can be done at user level if they request anything not set by default
All Users should be set as Self Book so they can’t see anyone else’s details.
For this purpose it’s best to set a generically named user (eg. demo@companyname.com) to be shared by multiple testers rather than multiple Users .
Client Demo Companies
It may be required for late stage large prospects to have a demo Company set up so that detailed client specific settings can be applied. This should only be done when absolutely necessary, and can be done by Duplicating the CTM Lightning EXT Demo 02LI company as a starting point.
Internal CTM Users
All internal Users should be set up under CTM Lightning Int Demo 02Li.
This is also a Non Live company which can be used for testing/demos without causing any charges, but also is an Admin Company so users can access all CTM Companies while still seeing full booker view.
They should be created with User Type Booker except for Online Support users who need to be able to create new Companies, who need to be set as Agent.
User Types in Lightning
There are 6 User Types in Lightning:
-
Traveller – has no access to the tool, but their profile details are stored for use by Bookers.
-
Self Book – Can only book for self (‘Add Me’ option when adding names)
-
Self Book and others – Can book multiple passengers as long as they are pax 1.
-
Booker – Can book travel for anyone in the Office they are under, regardless of whether they’re travelling.
-
Agent – unnecessary for us currently
-
AgentBook –unnecessary for us currently.
Creating New Users:
Note: as above we will only need to do this for internal users and client demo users, see above.
- Log in and click on User Admin.
- Select the Company and Office the user(s) is to go under. This will display all current users under that Office.
- Select ‘Add User’ (top left of the toolbar).
- There are many tabs, but the absolute minimum (all that is required in most cases) is :
Personal Tab
- Account Type
- Company Administrator (should always be No for current purposes)
- Title/Forename/Surname – these should be as on passport, though for our purposes currently that is not relevant.
- Email - Email address is also the username and unique identifier of the User. The email address can only apply to one user within Lightning.
- Click Save And Continue at the bottom to progress
Profiles Tab:
- Click ‘Enable All’ which will create all profiles/functionality except for Conferma. Then click ‘Create Profile’ under “Hotel – Conferma” to create that one.
- There Is a lot more configuration and information that can be added for a user, but this is the basic requirements.
- If the email is a real one click ‘Save’, then the user can then go to the Lightning url (https://lightning.sabscorp.com), enter their email address as the User and click ‘Recover Password’. They will then be sent a password reset email. THIS IS THE MOST SECURE METHOD AND SHOULD BE USED FOR ALL LIVE USERS!
- If the email is fake for demo purposes and if the account is Non Live then select the Password tab (far right) and set a password before hitting save, this can then be given to the user.
Testing / Common Issues:
General Content Test
- ‘Become’ the user, click new booking, and check you have all of the below at the top –
- If not, click I(top left), select the new user, click Edit User, then check the Profiles tab shows all Profiles as active.
- If they are, select the Office, click Office Preferences (top right), select the Product Management tab, then Enable for All Users under the relevant product
- Note: Air-Lowcost states Mutlicom. We use Travelfusion and this label in incorrect, but the functionality works.
- Occasionally you may still have problems with Car Hire not appearing. If that’s the case contact Sabs Support and give the user email address to them.
Conferma Test
- Become the user, select Hotel, and try to validate a city in the City/Town field. If the validation field provides a match and you can select it, Conferma will work.
- If not it is likely the Branch number for Conferma has changed or is missing in the Supplier setup. (see Implementation Guide). If it is missing it will need adding. If it is present and correct it may be that it has changed since the user was set up. Edit the user and click ‘Recreate Profile’ on the Profiles tab. It takes a while but should resolve the problem. If that fails report to Sabs Support, provide the user and the correct Conferma branch number. They will delete the existing Conferma profile records in the database allowing you to Create a new one as above.
Other Product Tests
If they appear they should work. The only reason they won’t is if the Supplier Credentials are incorrect. (see Implementation Guide)
